Tippy-Toes by masayume15 Tippy-Toes by masayume15
went to Central Park aout a week ago and there was a world record breaking attempt going on and t was really cool, got some nice pictures until my camera failed. If u wanna know what the record was about, ask in the comments :3 i like this so much because there is contradiction between simplicity and complicatedness(? lol) because it looks so effortless but in reality she is balancing all of her body weight on her toes and able to move like that
*EDIT* wow this really blew up over 24 hours and im so happy and grateful that 300 of you guys like it and about 100 faved and stuff...its on page 4 of the popular in 24 hrs! :D

My favorite thing to see in photograohy is
texture, and you have so much of it! the
roughness of the concrete, silkiness of the
ballet slippers, and even the small threads
of her tights! im pretty sure you have all
the elements of photography here! Though
the shoes catch my eyes first , the cracks of
the street do not go unnoticed! Some nice
values in every shadow and highlight.I like
how every shape is organic! i dont see any
perfect squares or , triangles or anything like that.Great form! this photo has plenty of
depth, and space! nice calm colors and i like
how the cool cement shade contrasts with the
warm colors of her slippers and tights.lots
of emphasis too, I think its a great shot! =]

My ballet shoes look like that :) they don't stay all perfect and pretty for long! (I hate to be picky...but the picture is a bit blurry even though what it's capturing is great!)

I like the way her slippers (idk the proper term for them) are a little ragged at the toes, it shows that she's put a lot of time and effort into being able to preform this feat. The cracked ground is also a nice touch since traditionally you'd think of a ballerina dancing on a hardwood stage and this setting contributes to the feeling that she has struggled. What filters did you use?

Oh hey, ours are kind of similar :) This is really pretty-the only thing I would suggest would be to have left a little more photo space on the left side of the picture. I don't know if the blurriness was your artistic liberties at work, haha. But it does give it a little motion. :)

That's a lovely shot! I like the fact it's on rough ground, not the conventional linoleum of the studio. And the back story gives it an interesting touch.

the record was the most people doin a routine on pointe for a whole minute. there were about 250 people there and they did it twice and they did break the record :D . and it may or may not be on youtube, im not sure, but it was pretty cool to be part of some history
